Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is one app at a time?
One app at a time, is a service which transforms your flash games so they can be used in iPhones. Once the game is transformed it is then available to be sold through the app store.
-
How can I upload my game?
First you need to create a user account, it is quite simple. After you validate your account you can immediately star uploading your games to our application. Once we’ve received your game, we’ll check it out, and decide if it’s a good fit for the iPhone.
-
How long will it take to transform my game?
This depends basically of two things – first we take a look at your game to determine whether it is viable and then once it is approved we begin to work. It’s possible we’ll become backlogged with work. Our hope is to have a couple week turn around on game transformation. Once it’s accepted, and we’ve transformed it in to an iPhone game, it’ll take several weeks for apple to approve it and add it to the appstore.
-
Do I have to pay for this service?
No – since the possibility exists that we choose not to transform your game we do not charge for the service.
We are investing our time and work in to creating a iPhone version of your game. To recoup our investment we will split the appstore income with you, the game creator.
It’s possible we will create a service where by we transform flash games in to iPhone apps for a fee instead of a revenue share. At this point we are not providing that service.
-
Will you publish my game in the app store?
Yes – once the game is transformed it will be available at the app store. Part of the service we provide is expertise in navigating the apple app store approval process.
-
Must I transfer my property rights over to you?
No, of course not. To be able to submit the application on your behalf, and create a derivative work, the iPhone version, we need to have a license to the work. But you still retain full ownership of your game.
-
How much will my app sell for?
We will work with you to look at how to maximize income through game sales. Most games sell for between 99 cents and $5. Our experience shows that $2.99 is a particular sweet spot.
-
Do my games need to be Actionscript 3 (AS3)?
To convert to the iPhone, only AS3 is supported. That means either you have to submit the games as AS3, or we have to invest the time to rewrite the game in AS3. For particularly interesting or compelling games, we could be talked in to it. For now we’ve got such demand that we request you only submit AS3 games.
-
What about things other than games?
We think the iPhone is a compelling casual gaming platform, and that the flash community has produced an amazing crop of games. That said, there is the possibility of creating other kinds of applications. Feel free to submit non-game flash swf’s.
-
Can I cancel the converting process when I want?
We only have the right to cancel the converting process, but you can email us asking for it if you really want.
